  • Erich's Restaurant. 21, Daniel Tjongarero Avenue. Very good international cuisine with emphasis on fresh seafood. Tel (0)64-405141.
  • Fish Deli. 28, Daniel Tjongarero Avenue. Snack bar. Fish, fresh and cheap, from fish roll to Bouillabaisse. Tel (0)64-462979.
  • Swakopmund Café. 13, Daniel Tjongarero Avenue. Café and Bistro. Delicious cakes and pastries. Tel 064-400774.
  • Light House Pub and Restaurant, (Located at the Mole/Jetty). Wonderful view of the ocean from a terrace. Try the calamari and seafood dishes or the steaks, serves pub meals.
  • Weinmaus, Poststraße. Very friendly host. Not many tables, so make a reservation.
  • Kückis Pub, Tobias Hainyeko 22, (064) 404207. Warm and enjoyable atmosphere with great service. A long established sociable pub with great meals and interesting dishes (shark steak)
  • De Kelder. A little bit hidden, does not look attractive from outside. But everything else is perfect!
  • Tiffanys. Fresh fish, good wine, reasonable prices. The locals eat here!
  • African Cafe: A meeting point for local people. Good coffee from all over Africa and small dishes are served. Live bands and Jam-Sessions. Mandume ya Ndemufayo Street Tel. 064/403160 Sun closed.
  • Captain’s Tavern: seafood dishes, oysters on the rocks and shark steak are a must. Also a recommendation is the fish curry (an old cape malay recipe). Swakopmund Hotel & Entertainment Centre, Theo Ben Gurirab Avenue Tel. 064/400800. Reservation is a must.
  • Papa’s: a great place for pizzas, vegetarian food, big tasty salads, vegetable lasagna, soups and cakes. Everything is also for take-away. At Shoprite Shopping Center, Sam Nujoma Avenue/ Windhoek Street Tel. 064/404747
  • Swakopmunde Brauhaus: traditional German food. Very tasty. The specialty is “green asparagus”. Brauhaus Arcade Tel. 064/402214
  • GK Restaurant, (at Hotel Gruner Kranz), 064 402030. 7-10am & 5-10pm. GK Restaurant-new owners 
  • Kupferpfanne. Game food and good wines.
  • The Jetty 1905. Recently openned at the end of the pier, really good sushi and tapas. Call (+264) 064 5664 to make a reservation. Lance is managing operations and will assist. The BEST whisky Don Pedro's! Try this if you have no clue what it is. Friendly service, good wine list and the food is great. Recommend the 'fish&chips'.
  • Out of Africa Get your coffee and cake here. African-sized muffins and mugs of European coffees make you wish for the movies.

Drink:

This is Jagermeister country and don't forget to sample the famous, locally brewed Hansa Draught.

  • Tiger Reef - beach bar, excellent place for a sundowner on the beach. Go to the aquaruim and walk along the beach in the direction of Walvis Bay. Grab a bottle of bubbly for the amazing sunset (Locally called sundowners)
  • Grunerkrantz Located above Cape to Cairo. This is where everyone comes for their late night drink.
  • Rafters, great sports bar with big LCD screens.
  • Pane Fresco. 7-14:00. Great croissants, freshly baked. Excellent espresso
